Week 2 reflection
An important lesson I learned in my week 2 studies is making sure when examining existing research, you break the research down into relevant information. This information should be stuff that you can use in your situation at your school. Do not be afraid to use existing research but make sure it is relevant to your situations in your school. No two situations are exactly the same, but through action research you can find similar situations that have already been researched. Use the information that is pertinent to you and your situation and build on ideas and your research from there.

Again, just one more thing to like about action research. No matter what you are doing, it must be relevant to your situation. No two schools are alike, perhaps similar, but not alike. Action research is a great fact finding strategy, but if the research doesn't apply to your situation, you're wasting your time.
ReplyDeleteGood point. No two schools are alike but similiar and it helps to collaborate with other administrators to find a solution that is meaningful and pertinent to your campus.
ReplyDeleteKevin, you are completely correct. Relevant is not always what others are doing, but it is what you need. Good job on your blog.
